The naive and sentimental lover
By way of background I grew up in a left labor milieu and saw the great excitement of the end of 23 years of conservative rule first hand at age 17. I was ALP before drifting through greenery to anarchism. It's been 28 years now since I last voted for them though and it's really no skin off my dick what they do or where they go. The following is more of an intellectual exercise ( ie wank ) than anything else. From Melbourne Indymedia.

Cometh the hour - cometh the women. A women named Ellen is now president in Liberia. The first women leader in Africa.
So why not Australia?
Julia Gillard has a priceless opportunity now to be the ALP messiah. Look at what just happened to Howard allies, Bush, Blair and Berlusconi! team Bush is toast!
And look, especially at what just happened in israel!!!
Peratz is taking labor out of that corrupt coalition there so it can be done here. The ALP has roughly 50% there for Gillard and is desperate for someone to save its soul.
The machine men and the flabby militarist/spook losers of the ALP lunar right need to be put firmly back in their box.
Let labor be labor!
Fuck Beazley, Ray and that conga line mob!
Australians care about the rule of law, civil and human rights going back to the Magna carta and they hate to see swine like Beazley and some Premiers wipe their arse with them. They know the Iraq madness of King John has placed us in danger so where is the ALP attack!
Where is the messiah?
She has a window of opportunity - if she doesn't want to wind up an ALP widow I suggest she hustle.
Events will shortly overtake her and her party should she not move now.
Move in hard now on the right and have two years to get Labor into a position to rule for 20 years. Stop the slow bleeding to death.
Smart change is needed to level the playing the field. To bring in direct democracy and leaner smarter government for all, especially the true believers who are all crying and dying.
Julia thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Thy kingdom come.
